EASE Devon is run by Angela Garner who operates an education service that offers visits to playschools, primary and junior schools in East Devon accompanied by Jasper and Beryl, the EASE guinea-pigs. Mini-workshops are given at the schools designed to allow the children to realise the importance of being kind and gentle to all animals.

Angela also runs the
Pet Bereavement Service from Devon, about which she writes:

'This national service which has been up and running since the beginning of EASE has seen a steady increase in the number of people seeking support following the death of a companion animal. This is no doubt due to more people becoming aware that such a service is available as it has been widely advertised through various outlets: the EASE website, a wide distribution of leaflets, newspaper adverts, and personal recommendation. The service is also posted on the website of the
Ruby Care Foundation, an international charity that offers care and support to the terminally ill and bereaved.
Mostly counselling is done over the phone, and sometimes via email, as people contact me from far and wide. There has been very positive feedback on the usefulness of this free service which is available to anyone in need. It has been a great help having EASE's pet bereavement support material - three leaflets and an audio tape. These have been sent to many individuals and also are held by various organisations which come into contact with people who suffer pet loss.'
