MAKING A CHARITABLE BEQUEST
Bequests and legacies of money, land or property are invaluable to charities, and EASE is no exception. Income from legacies enables our future and current work for the benefit of people and their pets to continue.
You may have already made a Will but wish to help our work, which you can easily do by adding a simple Codicil to your Will. Your solicitor is the best person to advise how this should be precisely worded. When you have completed the Codicil you should keep the original copy of your will and give a copy to your solicitor. A legally acceptable form of wording for a Codicil would be:
This Codicil is made by me (full name) of (full address) to my Will dated (date). I leave Environmental Animal Sanctuary and Education of PO Box 292, Hatfield, Herts AL9 6ZJ (Reg. Charity 1089160)

Your signature needs to be made in the presence of two witnesses, and their signatures, full names and addresses should be included.
For those who may not already have made a Will, to die intestate (without making a Will) can cause heartache and anxiety to family and friends, and your possessions may not go to the people you intended. Apart from the administrative complications it can cause, much of what you leave may end up with the taxman.
Making a Will gives you peace of mind, adequate provision for your family, friends and pets, and ensures you are the one to decide what will happen to everything you own. Making a Will is simple with the help of a solicitor and takes only an hour or so.
If you would like to make a gift to EASE in your Will, we suggest the wording as follows:
I bequeath to Environmental Animal Sanctuary and Education of PO Box 292, Hatfield, Herts AL9 6ZJ (Reg. Charity No. 1089160)
