EASE is a small charity which promotes and supports the special relationship that can exist between a person and their pet. Pets give warmth, companionship and comfort to the elderly and the ill, to children, to people living alone, to adults - basically to everyone. We understand the importance and depth of this human/pet relationship, and a small team of volunteers offer various services in support of this bond.

The EASE
Preparing for Pet Loss Programme is an email service for people who anticipate the loss of a beloved pet. We offer free support prior to, during and after expected loss. Pet loss may be anticipated because of terminal illness, increasing old age, euthanasia, or indeed any long-term or permanent separation due to, for example, the break-up of a relationship or other causes.

We believe that education plays a vital role in improving animal welfare. EASE runs an Education Programme offering a comprehensive range of animal care literature, including leaflets in the care of:
Hamsters, Guinea-pigs, Rabbits, Gerbils, Rats, Ferrets, Mice, Chinchillas, Budgies, Doves, Chickens and Parrots. All of these can be downloaded from our website, where you can also find more of the educational material we have available including our new children's book entitled 'Caring for your Pet'.

The small animal care leaflets and the book have been produced thanks to funding from the BVA:Animal Welfare Foundation.

EASE runs a Schools Project offering visits to pre-schools and primary schools in East Devon. Angela Garner holds these mini-workshops, which are designed to encourage young children to realise the importance of being kind and gentle to all animals. These interactive sessions involve creating a comfortable, safe 'home' for the two EASE guinea pigs who accompany Angela on these visits.
